The Toren is an amazing boutique hotel on Keizersgracht in the Jordaan neighborhood. Upon entering Keizersgracht 164, you’re immediately impressed by the rich, almost brothel-like decor featuring velvet curtains, deep colors, and sparkling chandeliers. It is simultaneously eye-catching and welcoming.
All 38 rooms ( located in the main building dating back to 1618 and a 2nd building just 50 meters away ) are richly appointed with lavish furnishings and a color scheme just like the lobby bar and feature Nespresso machines, mini-bars, and televisions. The more luxurious rooms also feature whirlpool baths.
The lobby bar across the hall from reception is the center of life at The Toren. In the mornings, it is transformed into the breakfast room with a wide of variety of standards plus British basics, fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee drinks made to order. In the afternoon, it’s a great spot to grab a tosti or tea, and at the end of a long day of sightseeing, it’s the perfect place to seek refuge to enjoy a glass of wine, a craft cocktail, or an Extra Cold Heineken before turning in for the night.
While The Toren is a very romantic setting for your Amsterdam visit, the hotel caters to a wide variety of visitors due to its outstanding location, service, and history. Neither honeymooners, business travelers, nor solo explorers will be disappointed about their time spent in this spectacular space. The environment plus the top notch staff make this a very special place to stay in Amsterdam.
